FLETCHERS TREES LIMITED HISTORY

We are a tree surgery company that has been established since the onset of World War Two. Based in Cheshunt in Hertfordshire, the business was founded by Mr Jack Fletcher in 1939, and has gone onto become one of the leading tree surgery companies in the UK . Originally based in Goffs Oak, Jack Fletcher built up the business providing generally tree clearance works in the local vicinity.

In the late 1950’s, the business diversified into providing tree surgery services to councils in Hertfordshire and London, and also to private householders. This has continued up until today, with the business providing all types of tree surgery services.

Perhaps our busiest period was in October 1987, when the UK , and in particular the South East was battered by storms. We spent an entire month following the storm, clearing away fallen tree and debris away from buildings, properties, cars, etc.

The company continues to flourish today, and still employees three generations of family members to this day. We still carry out work for both private customers and local councils, but also provide all types of tree surgery to organisations such as housing associations and maintenance companies.

Fletshers Trees are approved by many local authorites and our current client list includes:
Borough of Broxbourne, Watford Council, Hertfordshire County Council, St Albans Council.

Trees are in many ways a luxury item, they can add value to a property or devalue it. It is often a case of Right Tree, Wrong Location.

To this end, we provide guidance on a course of action to allow the tree and its owner to live in harmony !

Arboriculture is a professional industry and to promote a high standard of workmanship and meet current legislation, all our staff are trained to industry best practice. We offer training to others within the industry to NPTC/LANTRA Standards.
