Services - FLETCHERS TREES LIMITEDOUR SERVICES.

We carry out all types of tree surgery work and are of the leading companies in the UK. Our client list includes some of the leading councils and building companies, and all can vouch for our high standard of workmanship.

The most common surgery operations are listed below:

Crown Reduction:

This involves reducing the canopy of the tree by a specific amount, i.e. 30%. When the surgery is complete the tree should be symmetrical and as much foliage as possible should remain. Similarly, all branches removed should be done so at suitable side shoots, encouraging the tree to grow back in a natural manner. Crown reducing is a good option to consider, if the tree has become over grown.

Dead Wooding:

This involves removing major dead and diseased wood from within the canopy of the tree. These works are done for safety reasons, as generally it is far better for the crown of the tree to only hold live wood.

Crown Thinning:

This surgery involves removing a percentage of secondary branches and / or limbs. Again, after surgery, the tree should be left with an all-round even density to encourage natural re-growth. This option is good to consider when looking to create more light to your property. By thinning the density within the crown, it should allow more light through to your garden, lawn, etc.

Crown Lifting:

This surgery involves removing any low branches that may be obstructing the footpath, highway or a building. It can also involve the removal of any epicormic growth (young shoots) from the base or trunk. This action can then provide clearance under the tree.

Tree Removals:

It is always a shame to have to fell a tree, especially a large and mature one. There are normally a number of valid reasons, for example disease or a new development. We undertake tree removals with the same care and attention as with any other tree surgery operation. Where possible, we try and convert the resulting wood into usable timber or logs, so as to lessen the impact on the environment.

Stump Grinding:

Our normal operation involves removing the main root ball of a stump to a depth of approx. 150mm below ground level. We have three types of machine, which means we can grind out any stump, any size, subject to access of course !!
